How to make a beautiful and delicious Charcuterie Board.

Background Information

Starting off this assignment my classmates and are were all asked to pick a topic that we would like to make a “How to” video for. After deciding that topic we were then asked to make a title animation that relates to the topic.

Creating storyboards is a great way to visually express how and what happens within your scenes. The goal is to get from your first scene to the last with smooth transitions and nice movement. Music also plays a huge part in animation. Sounds can be queues for action to happens or for sequences to change within the scene.

About the Client

This video is geared towards the ages of 20-50. Charcuterie boards are an awesome snack that you can bring to a party or have when you invite guests to your own home.

The Challenge

The main issue I had creating this video was the lighting. Without having much experience in videography, it was a bit of a challenge to light the scene properly. Another issue is the cost of the products. The ingredients to make a charcuterie board can be pricey so I knew I had to get my shooting done perfectly on the first try or I would have to end up buying a whole other platters worth of ingredients.

My Solution

How did you approach the challenge?

Approaching this challenge I knew I needed to have the correct lighting. Luckily enough, New England Tech has light kits that the students can sign out which became the main source of light for the video. Then I also set up multiple cameras to capture different angles for the video.

What was the solution?

The lighting in the final video came out better than I expected. With minor tweaks the video quality has less “noise” than I thought would show. If I was however to do this over again. I would move the camera in a bit more to get more light and also match the resolution settings on the multiple cameras when recording.
