Disc Golf is here to stay!
Background Information
In an assignment to produce an explainer video, I tasked myself with telling people what and how to play disc golf. Disc golf is an amazing and beginner friendly sport that can be played by all ages. There are currently 3 full courses in Rhode Island and two of them are free to play!
About the Client
This video is meant for adults, kids, and families. As long as you can walk the course, disc golf presents a fun experience for all ages and it’s even a great sport to take your dog with you.
Inspiration
While creating a script for the video I looked at a lot of infographics. This helped me with the direction I wanted to head towards and also gave me some ideas I could use in the animation process.
Storyboard Process
During the design process I came to realize that the script was going to be too long an exceed more than 1 minute long. The original script talked about the history of disc golf and how it originated and then went into how to play disc golf.
The Challenge
The main issue I had creating this video was gathering assets that had a similar feel to them. When producing an animation you do not want multiple different styles going against each other.
My Solution
Approaching this challenge The solution to the issue was to use minimal assets and then create some of my own to go along with it, as well as stock footage.
